Nestled in a quite petite cul-de-sac, a stone’s throw away from the magnificent Pumicestone Passage Waterways lays the ‘Golden Beach House’, which was one of our most spectacular transformations and success stories for a highly technical build that was delivered in such a short time frame.

The brief from our lovely clients aside from an alfresco entertaining extension to the lower floor was to remove the roof to the existing single-story dwelling and add a second story addition keeping the whole lower ceiling and living quarters including wet areas intact with lighting, plumbing, gyprock, paint and tiles on the walls. There was also the added pressure of a really tight build time frame as our clients were relocating their whole world from inner state.

Starting this project a few weeks before Christmas to get the slab down, then battling cyclone Alfred, having the most amount of rain recorded that the Coast has seen in decades and orientating scorching heat waves were just a few of the challenges we faced on this project. Through careful planning and clear communication our intimate team of professionals utilised some of Australia’s leading technologies in weatherproofing as-you-build. One product to highlight was the inclusion of a specialised ‘Ground Sheet Tarp’ that is laid over the second story subfloor, then built upon. We managed to keep the existing dwelling 99% dry which we were very proud of.

The ‘Golden Beach House’ quickly took shape sporting some indulgent features such as: Velux skylights allowing beams of light to enter the staircase and entry foyer, Custom cabinetry throughout featuring Steccawood batten profile walls with hidden storage, Raked ceilings, Pacific Oak open style construction stringer stair case & balustrade, ABI fixtures & fittings, spacious wet areas with dual showers and much much more.

In the end we hit our target in producing yet another stunning Build, built to our signature high end finishes whilst delivering our unparalleled service which we are well known for. The best part is that you would never pick that this is a renovation and that’s how it’s meant to be. Another happy client and another stunning Vella Build complete.
