To all those landowners out there of steep or tricky blocks who are pondering on the complexities of design and build … The ‘Palmview Forest Retreat’ is a testament to what can be achieved by connecting with a good design and construction team.

‘Palmview Forest Retreat’ is located on a stunningly beautiful elevated position  … situated within the ‘Palmview Forest Estate’. The brief was to build a modest but beautifully flowing architecturally designed home, which, when viewed from the front street scape,  opens up grandly once inside…  then tiers & wanders down the block to accommodate the growing needs of three children within a family of five.

Being one of the more trickier blocks to build on in the estate due to the steep natural gradient came with many challenges. Executing the construction of the Rumpus/ guests quarters (situated under the master bedroom at the lowest point of the building envelope)  required the building to be ‘keyed into the slope’.  This particular part of the building has three positive walls (meaning the soil is hard up against the exterior of the outside wall of the building) … which required extra special attention. Vella Build rose to the occasion, utilising the latest in waterproofing technology and clever construction to deliver a long lasting and aesthetically pleasing result.

Vella Build maintained a consistently high presence on and off site during the construction period… working in very closely with the clients & their design team  to deliver the ultimate ‘dream home’.

Besides the fact that this property and build is in itself stunning in every sense of the word (from the design, to the location, to the inclusions of products & materials chosen)… more importantly than ALL this… Palmview Forest Retreat is the house this beautiful family can call A HOME… tailored to their needs and built to last the distance in the harsh climate that we are accustomed to here in Australia.
